Android gaming is getting bigger and better every month it seems and there is always a slew of new titles coming to Google Play. Some months are better than others, but there is usually at least one great new game on mobile every month. Let’s take a look at the best new Android games from the last month! You can watch the videos on YouTube from previous months by clicking here! You can also check out our picks for the best new Android games for 2017 in the video above!

The Cat in the Hat Builds That

Price: Free

DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY
The Cat in the Hat Builds That is a new kids game from PBS Kids. It features both entertaining and educational games, like most kids games do these days. There is more science than any other subject in this one. It includes three mini-games, a variety of tools, and notes for the parents to help make the game more entertaining and educational for their kids. It's completely free. There are also no ads or in-app purchases and we consider that a necessity for a good kids game. This one is above average.

DanMachi: Memoria Freese

Price: Freemium
DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY
DanMachi: Memoria Freese is a new mobile RPG. It's based on the DanMachi anime, better known as Is It Okay To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon. It features the usual mobile RPG fare, including PvP battles, character collection, a story line, simple, but effective graphics, and more. Fans of the show have some issues with the canon of the show's story in relation to this game. Additionally, it does have some pay-to-win stuff (namely in the PvP). It's just okay, but fans of the show may enjoy it.

Destiny Warfare

Price: Freemium
DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY
Destiny Warfare is a new PvP shooter. It's very obviously inspired by the popular Destiny franchise. We're not sure how they got away with that naming to be honest. In any case, the game is actually kind of fun. It features only PvP combat in a variety of game modes. The game also includes custom games, a rarity in the PvP shooter space. Some other game play features are jet packs, decent graphics, and easy enough controls. It's a freemium game, but the freemium stuff is mostly cosmetic. The developers also stated that controller support was coming in a future update.

FishingStrike

Price: Freemium
DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY
FishingStrike is a decent (and rare) new fishing game. It gets the basics right. The game lets you fish in a variety of locations and the graphics are pretty decent. It also has VR and AR elements for a bit of a modern touch. We only saw a few problems, including the occasional server issue. However, the game otherwise plays quite well. Even the mechanics are simple to learn. It's a freemium game and that will eventually take its toll on players. Until then, this is a rare bright spot in an under-represented genre in mobile gaming.

Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle

Price: Free / Up to $4.49
DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY
Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle is a new horror-puzzle game. The developers launched this game on Friday the 13th in April. We thought that was a stroke of genius. In any case, the game looks a lot like the studio's previous game, Slayaway Camp (another great game). This one features over 100 puzzles across eight episodes. It also has an optional rated R mode for additional gore. The game also features offline support. This may be a candidate for one of the best games of 2018. It's that good.

GET HER BACK: A Journey To The Creature Island

GET HER BACK: A Journey To The Creature Island

Price: $1.99
DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY
GET HER BACK: A Journey To The Creature Island has a ridiculously long name for no reason. It's also a retro action platformer with shooter elements. It reminded us of old Contra games, but the old Contra games had slightly better graphics. This one includes 20 levels, 33 achievements, 60 objectives, upgradeable weapons, and tons and tons of action. The controls are decent. However, the game requires a light touch like many platformers that touch screen controls have always had trouble with. Otherwise, the game plays well. It's $1.99 with no in-app purchases or ads. Additionally, it was on sale for $0.99 during the writing of this list.

JYDGE

Price: $9.99
DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY
JYDGE is a new isometric style shooter. It launched on Android this month after a positive run on Steam. You play as JYDGE, a character that has a lot in common with Judge Dredd. Players run through levels to destroy evil and stop crime. The game features mechanics for varying play styles. Additionally, the game lets you choose your own mods, items, weapons, and more. The developers boast over a billion configurations in total. It's just a little pricey at $9.99. However, the PC version of this game goes for $14.99. By comparison, this is a steal.

Pocket Knights 2

Price: Freemium
DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY
Pocket Knights 2 is a new hack-and-slash RPG. You choose a character, collect various gear, and do battle with various bad guys. The controls and mechanics are fairly standard in this genre. It includes on-screen controls like a joystick and action buttons. The graphics are only just okay as well. Some other stuff includes PvP combat, a choice of over 100 heroes, and more. The game is a little bit pay-to-win. However, it's fun until you get to that point.

Returner 77

Price: $4.99
DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY
Returner 77 is a puzzle game with a dystopian theme. The premise is pretty decent. There is a group of survivors waiting on Earth for the right time to repopulate. You are the last survivor and it's time to bring everyone else back to the planet. You must solve puzzles and progress in order to do so. The game also features cut scenes, auto-saving, and decent controls. It goes for $4.99 with no in-app purchases or advertisements. It's not bad as far as puzzle games go.

The Room: Old Sins

Price: $4.99
DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY
The Room: Old Sins will easily be one of the best puzzle games of 2018. It follows a lot of the same elements as the prior games. There are a bunch of intricate-looking puzzles combined with outstanding graphics. This one revolves around a dollhouse. The game is simple to play and also includes cloud saving and Google Play Games achievements. There isn't much else to say. This game is outstanding and relatively inexpensive at $4.99.
